Two South African Premier Division giants are now battling it out for the signature of young defender Neo Rapa.

Details: According to The South Africa, the 19-year-old SuperSport United prospect has become a transfer target for two fierce rivals: Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates.

After a stellar campaign with SuperSport and a key role for the Bafana Bafana U20 side en route to their Africa Cup of Nations title, the young star has cemented his status as one of the continent’s most promising defensive talents.

It’s no surprise that such performances have put him firmly on the radar of top clubs, resulting in concrete interest from several teams.

Kaizer Chiefs see Rapa as a long-term solution at left-back, a position that has caused them headaches in recent seasons.

The "Pirates," meanwhile, have made the left-back spot their top priority following the departures of Paseka Mako and Innocent Maela.

Last season, Neo made 15 appearances for SuperSport’s senior side, though he did not register any direct goal involvements.

The portal Transfermarkt currently values Neo Rapa at €300,000.
