England's national team head coach, Gareth Southgate, attended the recent match between Manchester United and Aston Villa, which concluded with a 2-1 victory for Erik ten Hag's team.

According to The Times, Southgate's primary objective during the visit was to observe 18-year-old central midfielder Kobbie Mainoo from the "Red Devils." Southgate is considering including the young player in the squad for the friendly matches against Brazil and Belgium scheduled for March.

It is anticipated that if Mainoo maintains his current level of performance, he may even be included in the roster for the UEFA Euro 2024. The English Football Association will expedite the decision on calling up Mainoo to the national team as he also qualifies to represent Ghana, the birthplace of his parents. Mainoo has previously played for England at the youth level.

In Euro 2024, the England national team is placed in a group with Denmark, Serbia, and Slovenia.

In the current season, Mainoo has featured in 14 matches across all competitions for Manchester United, scoring two goals.
