The regular season of the Australian National Basketball League has officially concluded. In the upcoming playoffs, teams will compete to determine the new NBL champion.
The NBL playoffs began on February 13 and continue until the end of March, with a break for international FIBA qualification games from February 18 to 25.
NBL 2025 Playoff Format
Before the FIBA break, from February 13 to 17, the NBL Play-In tournament took place.
The third and fourth-ranked teams of the regular season, Perth Wildcats and Melbourne Phoenix, played against each other. The winner of this match directly advanced to the semifinals, where they faced Melbourne United, who finished second.
Sydney Kings (5th place) played against Adelaide 36ers (6th place). The loser of this game was eliminated, while the winner played against the loser of the Perth vs Phoenix match.
In the Play-In final, the loser of the seeding qualifier (3rd vs 4th) will face the winner of the match between Sydney and Adelaide. The winner of this game will advance to the semifinals and face the top-ranked team, Illawarra Hawks, who finished the regular season in first place in the NBL-2025 standings.
The semifinals and finals will take place after the FIBA break, which ends on February 25.
