NBA star Luka Dončić's home burglarized, thieves steal jewelry worth around €30,000
According to The Dallas Morning News, the home of Dallas Mavericks player Luka Dončić was burglarized, reportedly on Friday evening. At the time, the Mavericks were playing against the Phoenix Suns.
The intruder is believed to have broken into the house between 5:00 PM and 9:00 PM by smashing a bathroom window. Jewelry valued at approximately €28,800 was stolen. Fortunately, no one was home during the burglary.
Dončić himself was not at the game as he is currently recovering from an injury that is expected to sideline him for at least 15 games.
In recent months, burglaries targeting NBA players’ homes have become increasingly common. Players from the Milwaukee Bucks and Minnesota Timberwolves have also been victims of similar crimes. In response, the NBA has issued a memo urging players to enhance security measures at their residences.
“This trend of targeted break-ins is concerning for all of us. The NBA Security Department is working closely with teams, the players’ union, and federal and local authorities to provide full support and assistance. The safety of our players and their families is our top priority,” said an NBA spokesperson.
