NBA star Ja Morant’s home robbed, losses exceed $1 million
The home of Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant was burglarized in December, with losses exceeding $1 million. According to TMZ, the robbery is linked to a string of high-profile break-ins affecting the homes of Travis Kelce, Patrick Mahomes, Joe Burrow, and others.
Reports indicate that police received a burglary alert on December 20. At the time, the victim’s identity was not disclosed and was only listed as a "Memphis Grizzlies player." It has now been confirmed that Morant was the target.
The investigation remains ongoing, with detectives exploring various leads to identify those responsible.
A lawsuit filed in connection with the case names several suspects linked to a South American theft ring: Pablo Cartes, Ignacio Cartes, Bastian Frero, Jordan Sanchez, Bastian Morales, Alejandro Chavez, and Sergio Cabello. They are accused of conspiring to transport stolen goods across state lines. If convicted, they face a maximum prison sentence of 10 years.
Notably, three of the suspects were arrested in Ohio for traffic violations. During the stop, authorities discovered LSU merchandise in their trunk, and one passenger was wearing a Bengals cap believed to have belonged to Joe Burrow.
