The President made his announcement during a gathering commemorating Black History Month, emphasizing that America celebrates all its heroes regardless of race. He also promised that a statue of Tiger Woods—who was present at the event—would be added in the future.

The idea for the National Garden was first proposed during Trump’s previous term, though the project was never realized. Now, he is determined to bring it to life.

Among the other historical figures to be honored in the park are John F. Kennedy, Neil Armstrong, Rosa Parks, and Jackie Robinson. In total, more than 200 American icons are set to be immortalized.
