NBA launches investigation into Joel Embiid for pushing journalist during altercation
Philadelphia 76ers player Joel Embiid shouted at Philadelphia Inquirer columnist Marcus Hayes and pushed him in the locker room after the team's loss to the Memphis Grizzlies. The National Basketball Association has officially announced the start of an investigation into the matter.
Details. Embiid was upset with Hayes' column that mentioned his deceased brother and son. In his articles, the journalist consistently questioned Embiid's professionalism and physical condition. The conflict between the basketball player and the journalist occurred during a press conference.
"The next time you mention my late brother and my son, you will see what I will do to you, and I will have to... live with the consequences," Embiid said to Hayes.
Hayes apologized, but Embiid did not accept the apology. Meanwhile, the team's security asked the media not to cover the incident.
Reminder. The game took place in Philadelphia on Saturday and ended with a score of 124-107 in favor of the visitors. Embiid did not participate in the match.
