The NBA may initiate an investigation into the Philadelphia 76ers

The Philadelphia 76ers will kick off the official NBA season with a home game against the Milwaukee Bucks. Joel Embiid will miss this game, but the league may begin an investigation into the team.

Details: According to ESPN, the NBA is likely to investigate the Philadelphia 76ers concerning the participation of center Joel Embiid. The player missed all preseason games and will sit out the first three games of the official season.

It's typical for the NBA to review a team whenever a top player misses a nationally televised game, as this is related to the league's player participation policy.

Additionally, the 76ers provided an update on Embiid's recovery. According to their statements, the player is responding well to his individual plan and is gradually preparing for games.

Reminder: The 2024 NBA offseason set a new financial record, becoming the most expensive in league history, with NBA teams spending $7.4 billion on acquisitions last offseason.
