National First Division Champions Kruger United confirmed as Motsepe Foundation Champions
Kruger United are this season's Motsepe Foundation Championship champions.
The team from Mpumalanga are this season's National First Division champions and gained automatic promotion to the PSL following a stellar campaign.
Their team was largely dominated by former PSL players who played in the elite division which put them in good stead against fellow NFD teams.
Kruger have Ntsako Makhubela, Morne Nel, Ebrahim Seedat and Ncelimpilo Ngema to mention four players who have played in the PSL in the past.
Nel is a former SuperSport United and Cape Town Spurs midfielder, Makhubela played for Golden Arrows and Orlando Pirates while Seedat and Ngema played for Cape Town City and AmaZulu respectively.
This means Mpumalanga will have two teams in the PSL next season as TS Galaxy are also based in the province.
But Casric Stars could finish in the Play-Off spot and fight for a place in the PSL which could also increase the number of Mpumalanga teams in the PSL.
This afternoon they beat Gomora United 1-0 in Giyani to all but continue to dominate the NFD season.
