Napoli will let their coach go! Conte has decided on his next move
Antonio Conte could once again take charge of the Italy national team. The specialist is seriously considering a return to the helm of the Azzurri.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Conte is one of the main candidates to replace Gennaro Gattuso. Despite having a contract with Napoli until the summer of 2027, the 56-year-old coach is open to negotiations and interested in a second spell with the national squad.
The source notes that the FIGC sees Conte as the ideal figure to relaunch the national team. The position of Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis could also be key: according to reports, he is not expected to stand in the way of the coach’s departure, despite the current agreement.
The final decision on the new national team manager is expected after the FIGC presidential elections, scheduled for June 22. Until then, Silvio Baldini may take over as interim coach for the June friendlies.
