Napoli lost again and risk being left without European competition for the first time in 15 years

In the 33rd round match of the Italian Serie A, the reigning champion of the country, Napoli, sensationally lost to Empoli away. This defeat for the club was the second in a row and the sixth in the last seven matches.

The only goal of the match was scored by Alberto Chery in the fourth minute. Thanks to this victory, the team from Tuscany maintains decent chances of staying in the elite league. Napoli, after this game, will remain in eighth position, but also risks being overtaken by both Torino and Fiorentina. Consequently, the "Partenopei" could miss out on European competitions for the first time in 15 years. Considering the current form of Francesco Calzona's squad and the remaining fixture list (Napoli still has to play against Roma, Udinese, Bologna, Fiorentina, and Lecce), the likelihood of the team not even securing a spot in the Conference League is very high.

Interestingly, under the guidance of the Italian coach, who took over the team during the current season, Napoli has not shown impressive results. Therefore, club president Aurelio De Laurentiis will most likely decide to change the coach again during the summer break.
