Naomi Osaka attends NBA game after dramatic withdrawal from Australian Open
Tennis star Naomi Osaka took a break from personal challenges and an injury that forced her to withdraw from the Australian Open, opting for an evening of basketball. According to TMZ, she attended the NBA game between the Brooklyn Nets and Phoenix Suns.
Osaka appeared to be in good spirits, smiling for the cameras and showing a positive attitude.
The tennis player had started the Australian Open strongly, advancing through the first two rounds. However, she had to pull out of the third round due to an injury, undoubtedly a disappointing turn of events.
Osaka has also faced challenges in her personal life. In early January, she announced her breakup with rapper Cordae, who is also the father of her daughter Shai. Although Naomi emphasized that they remain on good terms and continue to co-parent their daughter, the end of the relationship is unlikely to be an entirely positive experience.
Notably, Naomi Osaka is a two-time Australian Open and US Open champion. In 2019, she held the No. 1 spot in the WTA rankings. In total, Osaka has won seven WTA titles in her career.
