Nagelsmann has revealed the “behind” scenes of his resignation from Bayern

It's been a monthless year since Julian Nagelsmann resigned as Bayern's head coach, but only now the German specialist has spoken in an interview with Der Spiegel about why he said goodbye to his position at the Recordmeister.

"Why was I sacked so suddenly in the middle of the season? Firstly, we lost our nine-point lead over Borussia Dortmund. Thomas Tuchel was close and that's what happened.

I was invited to Bayern in order to change some things. There are clubs that go through this process for a long time. It took Jurgen Klopp five years to win the Premier League, Pep Guardiola seven to triumph with Manchester City in the Champions League. At Bayern, on the other hand, the coaches have no time to develop anything.

After the defeat to Bayer (1-2 on 19 March 2023), I was reproached for not being in the office a lot. This is not true. From Monday to Wednesday, the doors to my office at the base were open as always. Only then I went on a small holiday, which was to end on Friday morning and I got permission from the club".

The young professional is currently working with the German national team, to which Toni Kroos recently returned.
