Mystery behind Bayer Leverkusen star Granit Xhaka's new hairstyle revealed
Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Granit Xhaka surprised fans with his new hairstyle. Recent family photos from a Christmas getaway in the mountains showed Xhaka sporting a shaved head, sparking speculation among fans about the sudden change in appearance. However, the mystery has now been solved, reports Bild.
Many initially assumed Xhaka’s new look was the result of losing a bet. But the real reason is entirely different: during the Christmas break, the footballer traveled to Kosovo, where he underwent a hair transplant procedure.
Photos from the procedure show Xhaka holding a mirror as doctors carefully marked his hairline in preparation for the operation.
The procedure involves transplanting the player's own hair from areas like the back of the head to bald spots. It takes around 10 hours and is performed under local anesthesia, with costs ranging between €5,000 and €10,000.
In the football world, such procedures are not uncommon. Notable figures like Wayne Rooney, Jürgen Klopp, and Benedikt Höwedes have also undergone similar treatments in the past.
