Mourinho's Real Madrid simply won't stop! Another wild night takes the streak to new heights
José Mourinho's Real Madrid have turned their season into a remarkable winning march! A dramatic Champions League night in Athens extended the Spanish giants' winning streak to seven consecutive victories, with the decisive goal arriving deep into stoppage time.
Details: Fabrizio Romano highlighted that Real Madrid have now won seven matches in a row across all competitions since October 10. Their latest success came on November 4, when Mourinho's team defeated AEK Athens 3:2 away from home. Federico Valverde scored in the 90th minute plus two, sealing a comeback after Madrid had twice fallen behind.
The sequence began with a 1:0 win over Villarreal and continued with a thrilling 4:3 victory away to Roma in the Champions League. Madrid then beat Sevilla and RB Leipzig by identical 4:1 scorelines, before taking the Clasico against Barcelona 2:1. A 3:0 away victory over Racing Santander made it six wins, setting up the trip to Greece.
That seventh victory proved the most dramatic of the lot. Aboubakary Koita put AEK ahead in the 12th minute, but Jude Bellingham equalised in the 32nd. Stavros Pilios restored the hosts' lead after the break, only for Kylian Mbappé to level three minutes later. Valverde then struck in stoppage time, ensuring the run continued.
It's worth noting that the seven match streak consists of four LaLiga wins and three Champions League victories, with 21 goals scored and eight conceded. Madrid have also won all four European fixtures this season, collecting 12 points from 12. The results underline how Mourinho's side have combined attacking power with an ability to survive tense finishes.
Reminder: Mourinho has made his decision! Will Vinicius play against AEK?
