More than five years have passed since José Mourinho resigned as Manchester United head coach, but he still revisits his time at Old Trafford from time to time. The 'special one' has now assessed the club's transfer policy and believes he has not been trusted enough:

"What ten Hag had in his time at Manchester United, I didn't have. I didn't have that level of support. I didn't have that level of trust. So I left sad because I felt I was at the very beginning of the process. At some points, I felt like if they had trusted me and believed in my experience, things might have been different.

There are still a couple of players on the team that I didn't want to see five or six years ago. I think they don't represent the best professional profile for a club of a certain size. But I've done my job there. Time always tells the truth. I would like Manchester United to succeed," Mourinho told The Telegraph.

Earlier, the Portuguese revealed which national team he turned down to stay at Roma last summer.
