Mourinho could take charge of a top European team last summer

José Mourinho has been out of work for three months now after Roma bosses sent him down as head coach. But, the special one himself could have left last summer for the sake of working with a far from last European team.

As Mourinho himself admitted in an interview with The Telegraph, the Portuguese national team were interested in him, but he turned down an invitation from his home team because he felt an emotional pull towards Roma.

For the same reason, he turned down Saudi clubs who made him quite favourable financial offers. Earlier in such a situation, Mourinho quickly made a decision and moved to another team, but the Portuguese admitted that he was pragmatic, and this time stayed at Roma.

Recall, earlier, the 61-year-old specialist stated his desire to return to coaching this summer.
