Mourinho declined to take charge of the top national team

Roma's head coach, José Mourinho, has received an offer to take charge of the Brazilian national team, as reported by Corriere dello Sport.

According to sources, the Brazilian Football Federation considered Mourinho as a "special" candidate for the position of their national team's head coach. However, he promptly rejected the proposal. It is reported that Mourinho is fully focused on his work with Roma. His contract with the "Wolves" is set to expire at the end of this season, and there is a possibility of its extension.

It is reasonable to mention that there were earlier reports that Ancelotti had signed a contract with the Brazilian national team. However, it is now stated that this information is not accurate. Real Madrid officially announced the contract extension with the head coach, Carlo Ancelotti. The agreement with the 64-year-old Italian is now valid until the summer of 2026.

It is worth noting that Roma is considering the invitation of Monza's head coach, Raffaele Palladino, for the summer. Earlier reports indicated that there were disagreements between the club and the Portuguese coach regarding the terms of a new agreement. Roma currently holds the seventh position in the Serie A standings after 18 rounds.
