A humorous incident happened after Morocco's convincing 7-0 victory against Lesotho in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers when the Moroccan supporters started yelling for goalie Yassine Bounou to come forward and score.

Despite the heavy victory, Bounou was untested throughout the match, allowing him to keep a clean sheet for the third time in the qualifiers. As the second half began, fans in the stands of the Prince Heritier Moulay El Hassan Stadium in Oujda playfully called for Bounou to move forward and even take the penalty awarded to Morocco in the first half.

Fans made this request in remembrance of Bounou's iconic goal for Sevilla in the closing minute of a match against Valladolid in March 2021. As the first African and Arab goalkeeper to score in one of Europe's top five divisions, the Moroccan goalie made history by becoming the first player to ever score in La Liga.
