Money madness! England's top flight is gearing up for a billion-pound week
The transfer window finale in England promises to be truly insane.
Details: According to The Telegraph, Premier League clubs are expected to spend over £1 billion on transfers before the window ends in six days, on Tuesday, September 1 at 11pm.
English top-flight clubs have already spent more than £2 billion this summer, and the final week traditionally brings a flurry of blockbuster deals. The main storyline of the deadline could be the Julián Álvarez saga, with Arsenal ready to offer Atlético Madrid a package including Viktor Gyökeres, Gabriel Jesus and cash, while moves are also expected at Tottenham, Manchester United and other giants. Eleven Premier League clubs have already broken their transfer records in this window.
Last summer set an all-time record with around £3 billion spent by the league, and this window is on course to challenge that mark. It's worth noting that the single most expensive deal of the previous window was Alexander Isak's £125 million move to Liverpool, completed right on deadline day.
Reminder: Saudi millions knock on Arsenal's door! Al-Hilal make official move for Martinelli.
