Wydad Athletic Club head coach Rulani Mokwena has taken full responsibility for his team’s crushing 4-1 defeat at home to MAS de Fez, marking their heaviest loss in a decade. Despite a promising seven-match unbeaten streak, the team’s performance was marred by a red card in the 11th minute.

Refusing to place the responsibility on his players, Mokwena acknowledged his part in the defeat. "The coach is at blame when the team loses. "I accept full responsibility because I choose the lineup," he stated in a statement following the game.

The coach vowed to protect his players, as he had done in his previous role, but emphasized his commitment to turning things around. "I want to stay and help the club see better days. I have the energy and fighting spirit, but first, we must acknowledge our current position," Mokwena added.
