Liverpool's Mohamed Salah reached his peak in the Champions League, becoming the top Arab scorer in assists after setting up two goals in a 4-0 win over Bayer Leverkusen Salah assisted Cody Gakpo and Luis Diaz in half a second place took his Champions League tally to 17, surpassing Al-Ahli Saudi record of 16 assists by Riyad Mahrez between Leicester City and Manchester City.

Interestingly, the statistics are different; While "SofaScore" credits Salah with 17 assists, "Transfermarkt" cites 19, counting 18 for Liverpool and one from his time at Roma.

Salah’s record also makes him the second highest African assist scorer, behind Samuel Eto’o who has 19 goals
