Liverpool are hosting Galatasaray in the UEFA Champions League second leg, and late in the first half they had a prime chance to score.
Details: A Galatasaray defender clumsily fouled Soboslai, and the referee awarded a penalty. Mohamed Salah stepped up to take it, but the Egyptian forward was unable to convert. The goalkeeper of the Turkish giants made a save.
Incidentally, one of the world’s most respected referees, Polish official Szymon Marciniak, was forced to withdraw from officiating the Liverpool vs Galatasaray match at the last moment.
Reminder: In the first leg, Galatasaray narrowly defeated Liverpool 1–0. The winner of this tie will face PSG.
