Milford FC were beaten 2-0 by Betway Premiership defending champions Orlando Pirates in their opening match after promotion from the National First Division.
And this Wednesday they face former PSL champions in Mamelodi Sundowns in what is expected to be a baptism of fire for Kwa-Zulu Natal side.
Their coach and chairman Xanti Pupuma said the experience they gained in that loss against Pirates should aide them to face Sundowns.
“I think the biggest lesson is that we felt that we’re not far off,” said Pupuma.
“We’re not that far off from their level. We really did show up against Orlando Pirates. So, if we can have the same attitude, I know we have the quality if we can have the same attitude against Sundowns, we will give them problems."
