Milford FC coac Dr Xanti Pupuma on his side's Nedbank Cup win prospects: We have not yet given winning the cup a thought as yet Milford FC coac Dr Xanti Pupuma on his side's Nedbank Cup win prospects: We have not yet given winning the cup a thought as yet

Dr Xanti Pupuma is not thinking about what possibilities which lie beyond winning the Nedbank Cup.

The Mildord FC chairman and coach sounded oblivious about the fact that winners of the Ke Yona competition automatically qualify for the Caf Confederation Cup as the country’s representative.

"Actually I haven't thought that far but my goodness I'm not sure I wanna be there as a chairperson as travelling costs a lot of money. If it happens, it happens, I'm sure we'll find a way to address it,” said Pupuma on SABC.

“I don't wanna think too much about winning the cup. Let's address the next opponent and see how that goes. It's very exciting to play cup football. I think it's a day that we generally enjoy, especially if we win.”

Pupuma’s Milford face TS Galaxy in the semi-finals of this year’s Nedbank Cup competition and the coach also mentioned he dreams of an all National First Division final where they can face Casric Stars.

Casric Stars and Milford are the two of the last four teams in the final stages of the Nedbank Cup vying for promotion from the Motsepe Foundation Championship to the Betway Premiership.

Pupuma said he hopes both teams can play the final to create history.

But for the next stage against TS Galaxy, he said he was happy his players are getting much needed experience in their football development.

“For me, I'm happy, I'm happy for the boys that they get to experience this. Some of the boys signed with us when we were in a very low division and some were 16, 17, they've grown into men and for them to experience this with the badge it's great, it's really satisfying for me. What we get after that, the money, the CAF, it's just a bonus, we are already having fun," he said.

“I actually have no idea how much is at stake, there is someone that is into that within the structure of the team. ”
