Milan are planning to secure the transfer of Crystal Palace's French striker Jean-Philippe Mateta.
Details: According to TeamTalk, Jean-Philippe Mateta has attracted interest from several clubs. However, it is Milan—who had already considered the player in the summer—that are showing the most serious intent, viewing him as a classic number nine to spearhead Massimiliano Allegri's attack. The English giants are merely observing the situation for now.
Crystal Palace will not stand in Mateta's way if an offer in the region of £35–40 million comes in. The striker himself dreams of testing his skills in Serie A before the end of his career, making a winter transfer very much on the cards.
The Frenchman's contract with the English club expires in 18 months. This season, he has made twenty appearances for the London side, scoring eight goals and providing one assist. Transfermarkt currently values him at €35 million.
Reminder: Crystal Palace are looking to sign Sporting defender Ousmane Diomande.
