The departure of Crystal Palace's captain is virtually inevitable, which means it's time to hunt for a replacement.

Details: According to renowned insider Sacha Tavolieri on his X social media page, Crystal Palace understands that Marc Guehi will leave the club this winter and has already identified his replacement: 21-year-old Sporting Lisbon defender Ousmane Diomande.

Reports suggest that Diomande tops the shortlist of candidates to succeed Guehi. Sporting are open to selling Diomande for a hefty fee, but Palace will only open negotiations once Guehi's exit is confirmed.

This season, Diomande has made 8 appearances for Sporting but hasn't registered any goal contributions. His current contract with the Lisbon giants runs until 2027, and his market value is estimated at €45 million by Transfermarkt.

Reminder: Crystal Palace are afraid of losing Mateta and begin immediate talks over new contract
