The French striker could be set for a long-term stay in England.

Details: According to Sky Sports, 28-year-old French forward Jean-Philippe Mateta of Crystal Palace and the French national team has received a new contract offer from the Palace management.

Reports indicate that Crystal Palace are aware of the growing interest from top clubs in their player and do not want to let him leave on a free when his contract expires. No agreement has been reached yet, but the club's management is ready to offer Mateta highly lucrative terms and include a release clause in the deal.

Mateta joined Palace in 2022 for €11 million from German side Mainz. The Frenchman has made 171 appearances for the Eagles, scoring 54 goals and providing 12 assists.

His current contract runs until the summer of 2027, and his market value is estimated at €35 million by Transfermarkt.
