Milan can invite a coach from the English Premier League as a replacement for Pioli
AC Milan continues its quest to find a potential replacement for head coach Stefano Pioli. The club's leadership is dissatisfied with both the team's results and the current injury crisis.
According to Italian journalist Daniele Longo, the latest candidates to replace Pioli include Brighton's head coach Roberto De Zerbi and Thiago Motta from Bologna.
De Zerbi has been leading Brighton since September 2022. Under his guidance in the very first season, the Seagulls secured sixth place in the English league, earning them a spot in the Europa League.
Motta has been at Bologna's helm since 2022. Under his guidance this season, the team unexpectedly holds fourth place in Serie A after 17 rounds.
Previously, Milan was considering the candidacy of renowned Italian coach Antonio Conte, who is currently without a job.
Milan currently sits in third place in the Italian league table, collecting 33 points in 17 matches. On December 30, Pioli's team will close the year with a home match against Sassuolo. In the Champions League, the red and blacks failed to qualify for the playoffs, securing third place in a group with Borussia Dortmund, PSG, and Newcastle.
