AC Milan goalkeeper Mike Maignan faces a defining season ahead, as he must decide whether to continue his long-term partnership with the "Rossoneri" or start looking for his next club.

The club is ready to offer the goalkeeper a contract similar to that of the highest-paid player, Rafael Leão, who earns an annual salary of around €5.5 million. However, there is one important condition.

Details: Currently, the French goalkeeper earns €3.2 million per season but is likely to request a raise if he wants to extend his contract. It is noted that Maignan needs to show Milan's directors why he should be one of the club's highest-paid players. He must also demonstrate that he is capable of becoming one of the team's regular captains and leading his teammates through difficult moments.

If he fails to convince the "Rossoneri" bosses, Milan could start looking for a new goalkeeper before next summer.

The French shot-stopper is under contract at San Siro until the summer of 2026.

Recall: It was previously reported that if a good offer for Maignan arrives at the club's offices, the "Rossoneri" would seriously consider it.
