Midfielder of Macedonian club Shkupi Andrej Lazarov dies saving people from burning nightclub

These days, all of North Macedonia mourns the tragedy at the Pulse nightclub in the city of Kochani. During a concert by the duo DNK, a spark from fireworks ignited the roof of the building, resulting in a fire that claimed the lives of more than 50 people. Over 100 others sustained injuries of varying severity.

This tragedy did not spare the world of football either.

Details: According to the official website of the Macedonian First League club Shkupi, the central midfielder of the team, Andre Lazarov, died in the nightclub.

The 25-year-old footballer was trying to rescue people from the burning building but ultimately could not escape himself.

Andre Lazarov was a key player for Shkupi and had previously played in Croatia for the clubs Gorica and Rudes, and in his homeland for Tikves and Rabotnicki. He also had one appearance for the North Macedonia U21 national team.
