A bizarre incident unfolded in Mexico, where referee Rosario Cárdenas failed to officiate the October match between Monterrey and Tigres. Scheduled to serve as the fourth official, Cárdenas missed the game due to "medical reasons," according to The Sun.

Initially, the Mexican Referees Commission attributed his absence to health issues. However, former referee Fernando Chacón later shared a more scandalous theory behind Cárdenas' failure to appear.

Chacón claims that the night before the match, Cárdenas hired a sex worker and brought her to his hotel room. Allegedly, the woman drugged and assaulted him in the room, leaving him unable to attend the game the following day.

Following a thorough investigation, the Referees Commission terminated Cárdenas' contract.

"In order to ensure transparency and compliance with the protocols, this Commission informs that, following the investigation, it has decided to terminate the contract of the referee Rosario Guadalupe Cárdenas for non-compliance with the Arbitration Rules," read the official statement from the Commission.
