The main event of UFC 303, scheduled for June 29 in Las Vegas, USA, between Irishman Conor McGregor (22-6) and American Michael Chandler (23-8) is once again on the verge of being canceled.
Insider Ariel Helwani reported on his Twitter account:
"Last week, the concern for the event started to diminish. By Wednesday, there were no talks of a possible replacement. It seemed like nothing was preventing the fight from happening. Chandler gave an interview in which he confirmed the fight was definitely on.
On Saturday, UFC resumed promoting the event. And now, everything is repeating itself. I received several confirmations that UFC bosses began exploring replacement options.
In fact, there seems to be even more pessimism than last Monday after Conor canceled the Dublin press conference at the last minute. It seems we are still not out of the woods. This isn't over yet, and hopefully, a definitive answer will come soon," said Ariel Helwani.
Previously, Chandler had stated that the fight with McGregor would definitely take place.
