MC Alger coach Rulani Mokwena declares interest in Orlando Pirates midfielder Relebohile Mofokeng as the player also said he wants to leave the PSL
Rulani Mokwena is interested in bringing Relebohile Mofokeng to MC Alger.
Mokwena, a former Mamelodi Sundowns coach, is now in charge at Algerian giants, MC Alger where is guiding the side to a potential Ligue 1 championship.
Presently, MC Alger are on top of the Algerian league with a single defeat in 14 games. He has now declared he is interested in bringing in the Orlando Pirates player to North Africa.
“For an example, I know the fans want Relebohile Mofokeng. I know this, and believe me, I want Mofokeng as well,” Mokwena told journalists after his side beat CS Constantine 1-0.
“He’s a South African player whom I also spoke to about certain things in South African football. But it is not a transfer that, not just from a financial perspective, because I can tell you, the player has had many offers and has set his sights on going to Europe.
“So I can talk about it because, it’s just as an example, that the club is ambitious. The club has explored that possibility, but the player has no ambitions to play in Africa. So it’s not a lack of ambition from the president.”
