Maurizio Sarri – on the potential move to Saudi Arabia: And can one smoke there?
The 64-year-old Italian tactician and current coach of Lazio, Maurizio Sarri, reflected on his main mistake in his coaching career and commented on the possibility of moving to Saudi Arabia:
"At Chelsea, it was challenging for me to immerse myself in an atypical club, without a sporting director, where no coach could last more than two years. But in the last few months, I was enjoying it, and I was wrong when I wanted to leave, not so much from Chelsea but from the Premier League, where there is a unique beauty. Returning to Italy was a mistake.
Saudi Arabia? Can one smoke there? We'll see," said Sarri.
Maurizio Sarri has been in charge of Lazio since June 2021, and his contract with the club is set to run until June 2023. Previously, Sarri coached Chelsea and Juventus. In October, there were reports that if Sarri does not improve Lazio's results, he would be willing to leave the club.
