Matías Almeyda agrees to take charge of Sevilla

The Argentine manager is set to sign a contract with Sevilla's board in the near future.
Details: 51-year-old Matías Almeyda is expected to put pen to paper on a three-year deal in the coming days, according to Fabrizio Romano on his X page.
While rumors had swirled about his potential appointment, it can now be said with confidence that Sevilla will be getting an Argentine head coach.
Current Sevilla boss Joaquín Caparrós will leave the club on June 30, as his contract expires and will not be renewed.
Almeyda's most recent job was with Greek side AEK, where he managed 134 matches between 2022 and 2025.
Last season, Sevilla endured a humiliating 17th-place finish in La Liga, collecting just 41 points throughout the campaign—forcing the Andalusian board to urgently seek a new head coach.
