Martínez to undergo surgery: first details on Chelsea goalkeeper's condition after horrific injury
Argentina and Chelsea goalkeeper Emiliano Martínez has suffered a fractured jaw and will undergo surgery. The news was reported by Argentine journalist Gastón Edul, who revealed the first details about the goalkeeper's condition after the injury.
According to the source, Martínez is conscious and remains under observation by doctors in hospital. The results of his head CT scan, as well as examinations of his back and neck, were positive. This ruled out the most dangerous consequences of the injury, although the footballer was unable to avoid a serious injury altogether.
The main problem is the fractured jaw, which is why the goalkeeper has not yet been discharged from the medical facility. Martínez will undergo surgery, after which it will become clearer how much time he will need to recover.
