Martinez has apologised for his antics in Argentina's recent matches

Argentine goalkeeper Emiliano Martínez is known for his rather eccentric behaviour. Sometimes it comes out sideways, and the goalkeeper has to face trouble. However, the goalkeeper assures that he did not want to hurt anyone.

Details: Martinez posted an appeal to fans on his Instagram in which he accepted a two-match suspension for Argentina games and said he would focus more on his performances on the pitch.

Quote, ‘I accept the FIFA sanction and apologise if I offended anyone, a moment of celebration should make many children smile, not disrespect anyone. I will support my mates during the matches, despite the pain of not being able to be there.

It was not my intention to disrespect anyone and I didn't realise that a gesture well received by people was offensive, but I will try not to offend anyone else and just focus on winning titles with Argentina and Aston Villa.’

Recall: During Argentina's September matches, Martinez first traditionally held the summer-won Copa América to his genitals before punching a cameraman.
