Martinelli to leave Arsenal. Brazilian forward to join new club for €65 million
Arsenal forward Gabriel Martinelli will continue his career in Saudi Arabia. The Brazilian has reached a verbal agreement with Al-Hilal over a move, according to renowned insider Fabrizio Romano.
According to the journalist, the transfer fee will exceed €65 million including bonuses. Martinelli will sign a long-term contract with the Saudi club.
The footballer has reportedly already received permission to leave the United Kingdom within the next 24 hours. He will then be able to travel to Saudi Arabia to complete the transfer and finalise all the necessary paperwork.
Martinelli will thus become the latest high-profile player to leave European football to continue his career in Saudi Arabia. The Brazilian has played for Arsenal since 2019 and has established himself as one of the team's key players during that time.
It was previously reported that Arsenal were looking to strengthen their attacking options. The club will now have to replace Martinelli, whose departure opens up a place in the squad for a new player. The deal for Martinelli has already been agreed, with its formal completion expected in the near future.
