Manuel Ugarte commented on his transfer to Manchester United
Manchester United engaged in prolonged negotiations with PSG regarding the transfer of defensive midfielder Manuel Ugarte. After nearly two months of discussions, the deal was successfully completed.
The player himself expressed his delight at joining the club, describing it as a legendary team and stadium.
"This club, this stadium… legendary. We all know what a colossal club United is, one of the best teams in the world. Joining United is a dream come true. I am very happy, as this was a very lengthy process," Ugarte shared his emotions.
It is worth noting that the 23-year-old Uruguayan has moved to Manchester United on a permanent basis, signing a contract with the Red Devils until 2029. While the transfer fee has not been disclosed, it was previously reported that PSG will receive €50 million upfront, with an additional €10 million available as bonuses.
In a surprising turn of events, winger Jadon Sancho moved to Chelsea on the last day of the transfer window. Manchester United's sporting director, Dan Ashworth, assured that there were valid reasons behind the winger’s loan move.
