Manqoba Mngqithi has questioned Durban City’s wisdom in sacking coach Gavin Hunt.

Mngqithi credits Hunt for turning City into a balanced and stable side after the Kwa-Zulu Natal made their way back to the Betway Premiership through promotion from the National First Division.

“I think Gavin, in my opinion, was still doing well at Durban City, and he introduced a lot of youngsters who are doing well and played very well in the NFD. Their position on the log for a team that is coming from the NFD is very good,” said Mngqithi, who is in charge of Golden Arrows.

“I wonder what’s going to happen there after this because chances are that if they are not excited with what he was doing, then the question is, do they want to be progressive and play expansive, or do they want someone who is going to give them better percentages of getting into the box?” he asked.

“But I am not judging any team, I am just giving you my view of how I see the PSL this season,’ he concluded.”

Durban City are on the eighth spot with 19 points and indications are that Ernst Middendorp is to replace Hunt.
