Manchester United recently dismissed head coach Rúben Amorim and, already without him, suffered defeat in the FA Cup. After that loss, it became clear that the club will repeat an unwanted record.
Details: According to Opta, following Manchester United’s elimination by Brighton in the FA Cup, it is now confirmed that they will play only 40 matches this season.
This is the lowest number of games in a single campaign for the club in more than 110 years. The last time something similar happened was in the 1914–15 season, when Manchester United played just 39 matches.
Reminder: Manchester United are considering Thomas Tuchel as one of the leading candidates for the head coach position.
