Manchester United transfer target refuses to extend his contract with his club

Despite the certainty of who will be in charge of Manchester United next season, Old Trafford are planning a transfer campaign and some of its parts are close to a move to the Red Devils.
So, according to the Record website, 19-year-old Benfica midfielder Joao Neves has refused to renew his contract with the Lisbon club. This is despite the fact that the Eagles offered the young talent a significant increase in salary.
The club realise that against this backdrop there are unlikely to be anyone willing to activate the player's £105million clausula, and Benfica president Rui Costa may start negotiations on Neves with a figure of £85million.
Earlier it was reported that Manchester United boss Sir Jim Ratcliffe is prepared to shell out over £100million to buy the midfielder.
