Manchester United scouts traveled to Portugal for the 19-year-old footballer

The representatives of Manchester United attended the match of the 11th round of the Portuguese Championship, in which Benfica played against Sporting and achieved a difficult victory with a score of 2:1.

As journalist Fabrizio Romano reported on Twitter, scouts of the English team came to Portugal specifically to watch Benfica midfielder Joao Neves.

According to an insider, the Red Devils intend to complete the transfer of the 19-year-old footballer in the next transfer window.

This season, Neves has played 16 matches for Benfica in all competitions, in which he has scored one goal and one assist.

The young talent’s agreement with the Portuguese club is valid until June 2028. According to Transfermarkt, the player's value is approximately 20 million euros.

It was previously reported that Manchester United sees Portuguese Neves as a replacement for Brazilian midfielder Casemiro, who was recently injured and is now unable to help his team.
