Reports indicate that Barcelona’s management still refuses to pay the agreed-upon release clause of £26 million, insisting instead on a loan extension for Rashford until 2027—effectively sidestepping the mandatory buyout fee.
Manchester United, on the other hand, is well aware that Rashford’s impressive performances for Barcelona have significantly boosted his market value. As a result, the Red Devils are now prepared to demand no less than £50 million for their forward in the summer transfer window should Barcelona opt against making the deal permanent.
At present, relations between Barcelona and Manchester United are extremely strained over the Rashford situation, and according to sources, the two sides are on the brink of a full-blown conflict.
This season, Rashford has made 38 appearances for Barcelona, netting 10 goals and providing 13 assists. According to Transfermarkt, his market value is now estimated at €40 million.
