Manchester United have set their sights on Middlesbrough’s midfielder, a player who previously caught the eye of Michael Carrick.
Details: According to CaughtOffside, Manchester United are focusing on strengthening their midfield, with Hayden Hackney from Middlesbrough named among the potential targets. Tottenham had also shown interest in the player, but after signing Conor Gallagher, they withdrew from the race for Hackney.
Reports suggest that Michael Carrick has long admired Hackney, and United’s scouts continue to closely monitor the midfielder. The Red Devils have a real opportunity to sign the player, but with Middlesbrough fighting for promotion to the Premier League, it won’t be easy to convince them to let Hackney go this winter.
At the same time, the futures of Casemiro, Manuel Ugarte, and Bruno Fernandes remain uncertain, which further intensifies United’s need to invest in their midfield.
It’s worth noting that the English midfielder has already made 29 appearances for Middlesbrough in all competitions this season, scoring four goals and providing six assists. Transfermarkt currently values him at €25 million.
Reminder: Dutch giants Ajax and Turkish powerhouse Galatasaray are battling for Manchester United midfielder Manuel Ugarte.
