Manchester United have surged into the lead for the signing of the Inter defender

Manchester United are thinking about strengthening the defensive line in the summer transfer window, and at Old Trafford have already chosen the appropriate candidates.

According to FC Inter News, the Red Devils are interested in Inter defender Denzel Dumfries and Manchester United are the favourites to sign the Dutchman.

It is added that the Nerazzurri will value their player at £43 million, but if other European clubs join the fight for the 27-year-old right-back, the price tag could jump to £47 million.

It was previously reported that Inter would value Dumfries at no less than €20 million and would not prevent the player leaving, as negotiations over the player's new contract, which expires in the summer of 2025, have stalled.

Dumfries has played 24 games for Inter this season, scoring three goals and providing five assists.
