Manchester United has set its sights on acquiring Napoli's striker Victor Osimhen, as reported by the Independent.

According to sources, the leadership of the Red Devils has shown interest in the Nigerian forward. Additionally, PSG and Manchester United are the primary contenders for Napoli's striker. Sir Jim Ratcliffe, who holds a minority stake, has already been heavily involved in player recruitment. United aims to make more astute and forward-thinking acquisitions. Osimhen is viewed as a priority target due to his age of just 25 and his tactical versatility.

The player himself has previously expressed openness to a move to the English Premier League.

Osimhen has scored 11 goals and provided three assists in 16 matches in the current Serie A season. Last season, he was one of Napoli's key players, helping the team secure their first Coppa Italia victory in 33 years.

Incidentally, Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis responded to questions about the future of the team's top scorer, Victor Osimhen. The Napoli boss confirmed that the Nigerian's contract with the club includes a significant release clause, although he did not disclose the exact amount.
