Manchester United has joined the queue for Atalanta's wonderkid

Manchester United has added Atalanta's talented defender Giorgio Scalvini to its list of contenders, as reported by journalist Alfredo Pedulla.

However, a winter transfer seems highly unlikely as the Bergamo club has decided not to release their key player in January, considering a potential sale only in the summer.

Previously, Bayern Munich showed serious interest in Scalvini. Liverpool, Real Madrid, Inter, and Juventus are among the other contenders eyeing the swiftly progressing footballer.

The 20-year-old defender is a product of Atalanta's youth academy. In the current season, the promising defender has participated in 20 matches for Atalanta, scoring one goal. Overall, Scalvini has appeared in 75 games for Atalanta's first team, tallying four goals and three assists. Additionally, he has played seven matches for the Italian national team.

Scalvini's contract with the Bergamo club expires in the summer of 2028. According to the German portal Transfermarkt, the player is valued at 40 million euros.
