Defender Matthijs de Ligt expressed regret over the dismissal of his compatriot Erik ten Hag from his position as head coach of Manchester United.
Quote: "Erik ten Hag was very unlucky. We played well in many matches but failed to capitalize on our chances. It’s a pity it ended this way. He brought me to Manchester United with the goal of achieving success together with Erik," he told Telegraaf.
Context: It was Ten Hag who brought De Ligt to Manchester United. The defender and coach have known each other since their time working together at Ajax.

On November 12, the Portuguese manager visited the club's training ground at Carrington for the first time, where he held an introductory meeting with his future players.
